Physical Plant
The entire facility has a top of the line fire protection system. Each building is protected by a sprinkler system which is activated by heat; a smoke detector which is activated by smoke; and, an exhaust system which is activated by the detection of smoke. The exhaust system pumps fresh air into the building while simultaneously removing the smoke. These three subsystems are linked to a panel box in the Control Center where the total fire protection system is monitored 24 hours per day by a staff member. Firewalls are constructed around all inmate housing areas to maximize the retardation of fire and smoke during an actual fire.
