Volunteers are Important to PCRJ!
Date: December 07, 2011
Inmates are detained at this facility for an average of 90 days to 6 months. Some are incarcerated much longer. During this time, they are provided a variety of programs which may facilitate the successful completion of their sentence. Our volunteers are a crucial part of this effort. The use of volunteers permits increased personal contact for the inmates, broadens community resources for the facility, and increases public awareness of the correctional system.
If you would like to become a PCRJ Volunteer, please go the the Volunteers page of this website. There you will find a link to open and submit the volunteer application. If you have any questions about volunteering at the facility, please contact the Deputy Superintendent of Programs, Major Thelma Gardner, at 804-633-0043, x144.

The Peumansend Creek Regional Jail Authority engages accusations of sexual assault very seriously, and therefore mandates Authority employees, contractors, and volunteers maintain a professional relationship with all persons under the supervision of the Peumansend Creek Regional Jail.
If you have knowledge of any relationship, other than a professional relationship, between any inmates, employee and inmates, contractor and inmate and/or volunteers and inmates, please ask to speak to the Shift Commander or Superintendent immediately.
