The July 27, 2005 edition of The Caroline Progress included an article entitled 'Prisoners Offer Hope to Those Who Need It Most' about PCRJ inmates who donated their hair to Locks of Love.

On November 9, 2005, The Caroline Progress published an article, 'Food Pantry Full, for now' highlighting PCRJ staff efforts to stock the food pantry at the Caroline County Department of Social Services. Staff donated over 8,200 items to the food pantry through its annual non-perishable food drive.

In July 2006, The Caroline Progress featured an article, 'Inmate Gives Time, Talent to Relay' about a PCRJ inmate who used his calligraphy skills to label all of the luminary bags placed in honor or in memory of loved ones at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Caroline County.
