  • National Commission on Correctional Health Care

    Originally accredited in 2001 with a score of 100% compliance. Re-accreditation was achieved in February 2004 at 100% compliance, and again in 2007 at 97% compliance.

    NCCHC sets standards to assure the health, safety and welfare of the inmate population and the critical components of a health care system. Accreditation status is awarded to only those facilities which meet or exceed these standards. Accreditation is an on-going process and is valid for three years.

    PCRJ is only 1 of 250 jails in the nation to be accredited.

  • American Correctional Association - Correctional Industries

    PCRJ is the only accredited Correctional Industries in the nation and was the first. The original accreditation was conducted in 2001 with 100% compliance. Re-accreditation was achieved in 2004 and 2007 with 100% compliance each time.

    Standards are set by the American Correctional Association, the professional organization of detention and correctional professionals. The accreditation process verifies the facility meets or exceeds professional or legal parameters of acceptable operational levels.

  • American Correctional Association - Adult Local Detention Facilities

    PCRJ is only 1 of 120 jails accredited through the American Correctional Association, Adult Local Detention Facilities. The original accreditation was conducted in 2002 with 98.6% compliance. Re-accreditation was achieved in 2005, and again in 2008 with 100% compliance.

Standards are set by the American Correctional Association, the professional organization of detention and correctional professionals. The accreditation process verifies the facility meets or exceeds professional or legal parameters of acceptable operational levels.

Accreditation is achieved through a series of reviews, evaluations, audits and hearings.
